Erie BayHawks thank LECOM, head for playoffs
The Erie BayHawks finished its first season with a win and a special ceremony thanking LECOM for
helping the team get its start in the NBA Development League. BayHawks President Ron Sertz
congratulated LECOM for signing on as the premier sponsor. He presented a team basketball to
Anthony Ferretti, DO, a member of the LECOM Sports Medicine team that serves as the BayHawks
physicians. Dr. Ferretti represented LECOM President John M. Ferretti, DO at the final home
game.

The BayHawks went on to defeat the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 123-89 before a record crowd of 5,252
fans, including many LECOM students and employees. The team clinched the seventh seed in the
NBA D-League Playoffs after ending the season with 27 wins and 23 losses.
At the beginning of the game, LECOM Sports Medicine Director Patrick Leary, DO, had the honor of
presenting the game ball to the referee to start the final home game of the 2008-09 regular
season.
