Donald Hampton, DO, honored by AAO
Donald V. Hampton, D.O., Professor Emeritus of Osteopathic Principles and Practice at
the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pa., and Bradenton, Fla., was awarded the
American Academy of Osteopathy’s most prestigious award, the A.T. Still Medallion of Honor,
at the 2009 American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) Annual Convocation in Little Rock, Ark. The award
recognizes Dr. Hampton’s unremitting dedication to the osteopathic profession and his
reputation as a clinician and educator.

The Medallion of Honor is
awarded to deserving members of the Academy who have exhibited exceptional understanding and
application of osteopathic principles, and of the concepts which are the outgrowth of those
principles.
In addition to his active role in the AAO, Dr. Hampton has served on the
Educational Council on Osteopathic Principles and continues to be involved in patient care and
teaching at LECOM. He is also a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Ohio Osteopathic
Association, and the Cranial Academy.
