LECOM Bradenton Students Awarded $5,000 Scholarships
A pair of LECOM Bradenton medical students received top honors
at the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association’s
107th annual conference in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

received $5,000 scholarships at the FOMA conference in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. |
Third-year students Fatima Imtiaz and Brent Stottman were the
recipients of $5,000 scholarships from the Osteopathic and Podiatric Foundation of Florida Hospital
East Orlando.
Both students are completing core clinical rotations at the hospital. The
Foundation Award is given to students who attend osteopathic medical schools in Florida "in
recognition of exemplary academic achievement and leadership."
Scholarship
candidates must submit two letters of recommendation, transcripts, a personal statement and
curriculum vitae. The Florida Hospital East Orlando scholarship committee reviews all
applications.
Jamie Melichar (OMS-II) was honored for her “leadership as Vice
President of the FOMA student district society and dedication and commitment to the Foundations of
the Osteopathic Profession.” She received a plaque and a $500 scholarship from FOMA.
Jeremy Bigham (OMS-II) received the Advocates for FOMA (AFOMA) $500 scholarship.
The conference culminated with the installation of Linda Delo, DO, of Port St. Lucie, FL, as
FOMA's new president.
