Services Available at the Learning Resource Center
LECOM Learning Resource Center provides in-person and on-line services to all LECOM students,
faculty and staff and to Millcreek Community Hospital affiliates. Request assistance in person, by
telephone or via electronic mail. Available online services include: Interlibrary Borrowing,
Mediated Database Searching (i.e. MEDLINE), General Reference Help and internet searching.
Reference Assistance
LECOM Learning Resource Center can help users locate
information and assist with subject research.
Instruction
LECOM Learning
Resource Center provides assistance in the use of location tools, indexing and abstracting sources,
general organization schemes, World Wide Web resources, and the use of electronic and print
literature.
Literature Search Requests
LECOM Learning Resource Center
performs literature searches for complex clinical and research problems using on-line databases,
the Internet and print resources. Databases available include OVID MEDLINE with a turnaround time
averaging four hours.
Circulation
The Learning Resource Center
coordinates the use of materials among borrowers with an automated circulation system. Please be
aware of Learning Resource Center's policies (information and handout available at front desk).
Course Reserves
The Learning Resource Center houses course reserves behind
the circulation desk. Course reserves are materials set aside by professors for their classes to
use in the library only.
Photocopying
The Erie and Bradenton Learning
Resource Centers have two photocopiers at each location. Library patrons must purchase Venda-cards
to operate these copiers. The circulation desk sells the Venda-cards.
Interlibrary
Loan Requests (ILL)
The Learning Resource Center staff can help you obtain materials from
other libraries.
