IRB Member Agreements, Training, and Responsibilities
The LECOM Institutional Review Board (IRB) is charged with protecting the rights and welfare of
people involved in research at LECOM and LECOM-affiliated facilities. The LECOM IRB reviews all
plans for research involving human subjects in medical, behavioral and education settings. In
agreeing to serve the IRB, board members and staff contribute to this effort in protecting the
individuals who participate as subjects of research projects at the college and affiliated
institutions.
The following documents outline the training requirements, confidentiality agreements and
responsibilities of members of the LECOM Human Subjects IRB and Human Research Protection Program
staff as described in the LECOM Human Subjects Research IRB Standard Operating Procedures
manual.
