A new era in medical education for southwest Florida.
The continuing demand for new primary care physicians and
the rapid growth of Florida led LECOM to open a branch campus between Bradenton and Sarasota.
The campus is in Lakewood Ranch, a master-planned community that is one of the fastest
growing regions of the country. The college designed a building where each and every detail lends
itself to the mission of teaching students how to care for patients.
Two lecture
halls use smart classroom technology and each has 210 seats. The 24 smaller classrooms provide
ideal environments for the small-group, Problem-based Learning
meetings. A multipurpose lab offers
state-of-the art teaching equipment for anatomy and basic science study.
The
osteopathic manipulative medicine/multipurpose lab provides plenty of room and tables for hands-on
training. Students find tranquil views and plenty of study space in a spacious library and a
student lounge and cafeteria provides daily service for LECOM Bradenton students along with
additional study space. Wireless capabilities throughout the campus allow students to access their
class note server, databases or journals wherever they choose to study.
