CME for Medical Preceptors and Clinical Rotation Physicians
Due to the implementation of the new Osteopathic Continuous Certification requirements, the AOA CME program had to be revamped to meet the needs of tracking and recording CME credits at all levels. Since existing AOA Division of CME software did not record CME credit for more than one specialty, the AOA has launched a new IT platform for recording and maintaining physician records. However, this has caused a delay in recording new CME credits. Any CME submissions for 2013 will not be posted until mid-May 2013. This information is also posted on Osteopathic.org for physicians trying to view their current CME Activity Reports for the 2013-2015 CME cycle, as reports will not be available until May 2013. Please call our Member Service Center at (800)621-1773, option 1, with questions or if we can help.
Osteopathic physicians who serve as preceptors for LECOM students may earn Category 1-B credits for teaching medical students. LECOM will submit all of your hours to the AOA Council on Continuing Medical Education. The AOA will use 20 of those credits each year toward AOA CME requirements.
