William Murphy, DO, a faculty member at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Bradenton, has been awarded diplomat status by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM).

Dr. Murphy will be honored at ABAM’s awards luncheon May 2 in New Orleans. The luncheon is in conjunction with the 40th Annual American Society of Addiction Medicine Medical-Scientific Conference.

He is among the first group of physicians in America to be recognized as “board certified” in addiction medicine. In addition to teaching at LECOM, Dr. Murphy is on the staff at Manatee Glens Hospital and Addiction Center in Bradenton.
