LECOM Medical Fitness and Wellness Center Now Open
Members begin workouts at Erie's newest fitness center

Members of Erie’s newest fitness center began training on Sunday, March 1 with the opening of the LECOM John M. and Silvia Ferretti Medical Fitness and Wellness Center. They joined LECOM students who have had a week to try out the equipment and become acquainted with the services and facilities.

New member Ed Kabasinski says he was learning where everything is located in the 82,000 square foot center. He was doing arm

curls using one of the 160 cardio-fitness and weight machines. “The center is great. Compared with other fitness centers where I’ve worked out, this one is fabulous,” said Kabasinski. He found the second floor training area well lit and comfortable for training.

Many of the new members were busy on treadmills and elliptical trainers, while others ran or walked the 1/9th mile, three-lane track. A few people tested the water in the lap pool.

Tim Connelly found the free weight area to his liking. His wife has joined the center for the aerobic classes.

Many of those working out on the first day commented on the clean, modern and calm appearance of the center.

The facility is designed with the understanding that a peaceful mind and a calm spirit are just as important as a healthy body. In keeping with the Osteopathic philosophy of nurturing the
