The British College of Osteopathic Medicine, organizers of the International Conference on Advances in Osteopathic Research (ICAOR), have chosen LECOM Bradenton to host the ICAOR Seven in September 5 to 7, 2008.

ICAOR 7 Preliminary Program
The conference serves as an important meeting point for those engaged in osteopathic medical research and encourages future research toward improving medical care through osteopathic manipulative medicine. ICAOR attracts presenters and delegates from across the world.
Conference presenters will include scientists, osteopathic physicians and practioners, and osteopathic medical students who will give oral presentations.
LECOM Erie hosted ICAOR 5 in 2004. The College joins the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in planning for the 2008 conference.

| The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and the British College of Osteopathic Medicine invite global leaders in osteopathic medicine research to attend the 2008 International Conference on Advances in Osteopathic Research in Sarasota, Florida. The conference is scheduled for September 5-7, 2008. ICAOR 7 invites Osteopathic Physicians, Osteopaths, OMT Instructors, Osteopathic Researchers, Osteopathic Educators, Neuroscientists, Neuroanatomists, Physiologists, and Osteopathic Students. Program will cover: Cranial Osteopathy, Visceral Osteopathy, Soft Tissue Osteopathy, Applied Physiology, Pediatrics & Geriatrics.(LECOM anticipates AOA CCME approval for Category 1-A CME Credit). New Director of the Osteopathic Research Center to Present ICAOR 7 Keynote Address
He is the first osteopathic physician to have received a Midcareer Investigator Award from the National Institutes of Health. He serves as Principal Investigator of the OSTEOPATHIC Trial (OSTEOPAThic Health outcomes In Chronic low back pain Trial), an ongoing five-year study that will recruit about 500 subjects, making it the largest study ever undertaken on osteopathic manipulative treatment. He is also Principal Investigator for the Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment Project. This project will conduct a comprehensive review of the osteopathic literature with the aim of developing evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and recommendations on the use of osteopathic manipulative treatment.
