Erie BayHawks Honor LECOM at Opening Game

BayHawks Owners Honor LECOM

The owners of the Erie BayHawks called LECOM Provost Silvia Ferretti, DO to center-court just before tip-off for the team’s season opening home game. Steve Demetriou and Own McCormick presented Dr. Ferretti with a framed BayHawks team jersey. McCormick told the crowd of more than 5000 fans how LECOM has supported the BayHawks since the NBA Development League brought the team to Erie in 2008.

LECOM is one of only two team sponsors that received permission from the NBA to place their names on player’s jerseys. The LECOM logo is visible below the player’s numbers where it can be seen in game photos and during televised games.

LECOM student government leaders watched the opening ceremony from a sky box and then enjoyed the game from their seats above the Tullio arena. The BayHawks outplayed the Springfield Armor 109-71.
